Questions? We’ve complied the most frequently asked questions below…
While wardrobe is an important part of preparing for picture day, a comfortable child who truly loves what they are wearing is far more likely to shine naturally in front of the camera. Reluctant kids often relax and have more fun when they can bring a favourite toy or lovey along, so feel free to bring something familiar. Cute hats and simple accessories can add personality and be a lot of fun, too. :)
These session photographs are black & white, so colour is less important than texture and fit. You may want to avoid busy patterns, large logos, and anything too distracting. Think classic and simple - timeless pieces photograph best. A clean, wrinkle-free white t-shirt and simple pants can look fantastic and allow your child’s personality to shine. We sometimes photograph full body, so please consider footwear as part of the outfit. Pockets are awesome for kids to put their hands in.
Hair: as adorable as bedhead can be, avoid putting your child to bed with wet hair the night before. Because we will be focused on capturing beautiful portraits, we rely on you to make any wardrobe or hair adjustments and to do any necessary face wiping during the session.
If your child is sick with a runny nose or other active infection, please cancel your session. We will not photograph children who are unwell. You are able to cancel up to one hour prior, so if your child is ill, please free up your spot for someone who may be on the waitlist.

These sessions are only offered in black and white. If you would like your photos finished in colour, email the studio to request proofs in colour. There is a $100 fee for the post production of colour proofs.
-
Please do not attend picture day if your child is ill. If your child has a snotty nose or a rash, they may not attend. We have become sick from photographing children that attended while ill, so we have to say absolutely no to sick kids in front of the lens.
If possible, please cancel in the booking software up to one hour before your allowed time as this allows another family who may be on the waitlist to book in at the last minute. -
Parents are required to bring their child to their appointment and remain throughout the session. This approach aims to prevent any disruptions to the teachers and to classroom activities.
-
Yes! Especially if your little one likes to hold onto you. I can photograph your child in your arms without your face showing if you’re camera-shy. I love a snuggle shot!
If you would like the whole family in the photograph, we can accommodate up to five people within the space available. Be sure to list everyone attending on your information form when booking. -
We will not retake photos of a child that has been photographed already. However, if there are many ill children during the week we are scheduled to be at Trust, we may explore returning later in November.
